Overview

  • Implementation of a signalling and guiding technology to facilitate orientation for the blind and visually impaired in the stations and stops of Metrovalencia and TRAM of Alicante.

Goal

The purpose of this action is to facilitate the orientation in metro and tram stops and stations for people with visual impairment. In addition, it also makes it easier for the rest of the passengers to access the information of the signs in the language they need.

Measure

The guidance system works through QR type markers that can be detected remotely from the camera of any mobile device to read the signage distributed at stations and stops, through which you can receive instant information. These markers are based on artificial vision and are able to quickly, easily and reliably guide both visually impaired people and any other user.

Outcome

This initiative aims to improve accessibility conditions and the quality of the information provided to users of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV). In addition, it contributes to the digitalization of the information systems for users in real time.
