Measure

Many city councils in Spain have implemented the accompaniment services set up by the Santurce City Council in 2018. Police and a security company have worked together to escort women home after a night out.

A meeting point was chosen near the party area. Once there, the women were searched and escorted back home. For the more remote neighbourhoods, a bus with a guard took the users (men and women) home. Stops were on request to take users as close as possible to their destination.

Many other municipalities have implemented this measure during the celebration of major festivals to provide safety for women.
