Developing the Real-time Information Checkpoint Concept

Having a checkpoint near/next to a bus stop that needs to be interacted with in order to activate it may be unnecessary. An automated audio announcement would be sufficient for the purposes of informing people, with visual impairments, in regards to when future buses are arriving as well as what buses have arrived.

This automated announcement would be part of a system that is integrated within the bus stop. The system identifies the imminent arrival of the next bus and proceeds to announce which bus it is, and then announces the time till the next 3 buses arrive, ensuring that people with and without visual impairments know when to expect their bus.

How could this system for announcing real-time service information be improved further?
